Ryan is the Managing Partner at Oppel Allen PLLC, with a primary focus on business law, business litigation services, corporate law, intellectual property and healthcare. He is licensed to practice law in both Oklahoma and Texas and is also a credentialed attorney-mediator for these states.
Working with small and mid-sized companies, Ryan has helped a broad range of individuals and industries, including physicians and practice groups, to implement the right business solutions swiftly and effectively for his clients on many types of business issues in the ever-evolving business climate of today.

Outside of work, Ryan is a keen sportsman and a director for Oklahoma Letterman’s Association, a life-fellow Letterman, and is an avid OU supporter. During his college years, he received recognition for his athletic expertise, whilst playing as a four-time letterman. His talented and keen passion for the sport resulted in an athletic scholarship for his bachelor’s degree at the University of Oklahoma.
Advocating his client-centered work ethic, Ryan continues his dedication and commitment to supporting others in his activities within the local community group. He currently holds several titles and positions in both the Oklahoma areas, such as Board of Director for Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Women’s Crisis Center in Madill, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma Football Alumni Board, as well as mentor for lower clansman football players and underprivileged children in Celina, Texas. Additionally, he volunteers at Grace Bridge, an organization who provides support and basic necessities to the local community.

After almost two decades of practice and experience, Ryan has built up a wealth of achievements and recognition in his field, helping to cement his professional knowledge in the legal sector. Ryan has been recognized as an Oklahoma Super Lawyer Rising Star for 2012, 2013 and 2014 and a Texas Super Lawyer for 2016-2018 in business litigation.
Litigation Head, Cokinos Young, PC – 2020 to 2021
Ryan’s most recent position as the Litigation Head in the Dallas Office of Cokinos Young, PC, which he litigated complex commercial, intellectual property, construction litigation, franchise litigation and general civil litigation. As a Principal of the Firm, Ryan practiced in all aspects of civil litigation practice at trial and appellate levels, concentrating in complex commercial litigation and healthcare.
- Successfully negotiated an $18 Million asset sale with a Dallas pest control company that was purchased by a national pest control chain.
- Summary judgment verdict for $1.8 million dollar verdict which was confirmed by 6th Court of Appeals.
- Business divorce litigation resulting in $850,000 verdict, which was settled for a confidential amount post appeal.
- Summary judgment verdict for $250,000 dollar verdict which 6th Court of Appeals Confirmed.
Shareholder, Ferguson, Braswell & Frazer PC – 2015 to 2020
As a shareholder for 20 year old firm, FBFK for 5 years, Ryan offered litigation services for complex commercial and business, intellectual property, healthcare, corporate and employment matters.
- Lead defense counsel regarding a multi-level marketing company in a bitter patent infringement suit resulting in a pretrial settlement.
- Lead plaintiff’s counsel in a multi-million-dollar royalty dispute with a major oil and gas company resulting in a pretrial settlement.
- Represented 32 physicians in a Ponzi scheme perpetrated on them, which the loans paid to the perpetrator were personally guaranteed by physicians. Ryan was able to defend the physicians against the banks which resulted in an confidential settlement which resulted in an extremely good result where the bank was suing the physicians for $67 million dollars.
General Counsel, Petrolia Group, LLC – 2013 to 2015
Working for the Petrolia Group, an oil and gas company based in Oklahoma, Ryan provided a full range of legal support and advice for the company. This included assisting with the division of assets, legal advice on leaseholds and landholdings, management of HR legal issues, and documentation, drafting and reviewing of sales and purchase agreements.
Successfully negotiated a $36 Million asset sale with an international oil and gas company, including drafting many of the transactional documents and performance of the due diligence necessary for the sale.
Partner, Little Law Firm – 2011 to 2013
Working as a partner with one of Oklahoma’s premier law firms, Ryan worked with both national and local clients across the oil and gas industry and business law focusing, providing litigation, arbitration and legal advice on employment matters.
Lead defense counsel on complex $38 million lawsuit involving oil and gas mineral dispute resulting in a defense verdict via motion for summary judgment, which was upheld on appeal.
Senior Attorney, Munck Carter, LLP – 2009 to 2011
Ryan served as a Senior Attorney for one of the nation’s leading technology focused-law firms, sharing his skills and knowledge in the business law, complex commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, and employment litigation.
- Second chaired various complex commercial litigation jury trials, one of which resulted in the 4th largest jury verdict in Texas in 2010
- Third chaired three Title VII lawsuits against the City of Dallas, all resulting in defense jury verdicts.
- Prosecution and defense of multiple trade secret, non-compete, and non-solicitation cases.
Senior Litigation Associate, Munck Carter, LLP – 2009 to 2011
Working with Riney Palter PLLC, Ryan oversaw litigation, arbitration, and trial services in complex commercial, intellectual property, and employment disputes.
- Second chaired three commercial IP arbitration matters, one resulting in a $14 million award to a client.
